From its junction (gsv/r4s4j) the High Street Staple Road passes through a residential area with junctions to Court Cottages (gsv/9dkdf) on the right, Orchard Close (gsv/m24nw) on the left and Goodnestone Road (gsv/bxqvq)  branching right. Between here and the Fire station (gsv/6sugt) is a footpath leading to South Court Drive
After passing  junction with Miller Close (gsv/p7zma) the road heads down hill to Dam Bridge (gsv/d9k4x). Here there is a metalled (gsv/vk9ke)  track giving access to the footpath to the A257, Wingham Water Treatment Plant and Brooke Farm.
The road then heads up hill to a turning to GH Grain on the left (gsv/zbdgf) which stands on the site of the Old Colliery and a footpath (gsv/we3cs) to Popsal Lane on the right. Also on the right is the Trig Point  on Blakeny Hill
As the road begins to dip down again a Pill Box covered in undergrowth can be seen on the right  (gsv/s4rhh). 
After passing some houses on the left (gsv/587u3)   look out for the letter box in the wall of Letter Box Cottage (gsv/dbsw6) (right)
The (private road) to Brooke Farm leads between cottages close to the entrance to Twitham Court Farm (gsv/26qfy) (right)
Soon after passing Little Twitham Farm (gsv/cak6a) (right) where it forms the parish boundary with before it leaves Wingham and enters Staple. (gsv/j4k6n
